After 40 years leading one of the best home restoration firms in the greater Boston area, Charlie Allen is officially retiring. Since 1978, Charlie Allen Renovations (also a #clf member of 10 years) has won 27 awards — including more than a dozen Historic Preservation Awards, several Contractor of the Year awards, and Boston Magazine's Best Restoration Contractor in the city — among many others for its focus on homes built before the mid-twentieth century. The Cambridge community has always been at the heart of building such a great company. “I’ve really enjoyed seeing my customers coaching my daughter in soccer, at the after-church coffee, at the grocery store. I’ve really enjoyed how much my company and my family and passions have been part of the community,” Charlie Allen has said. The company is in great hands with President and Cambridge resident Julie Palmer, who started with the firm in 1999 as an office manager and rose into the President role in 2013. We wish them another 40 years of great success!
