At my favourite hangout this week after a meeting. Air conditioned on a hot autumn day so also a respite. Enjoyed the 'office away from the home office' time to write etc. 'Yes I'll have my usual'. Treated to the cafe manager / barista sharing his artistic talent as well. His roses are simple in design but applied with patience and attention to detail. Love the colour and fun. We all have so many gifts and talents that others don't see. Who would expect? (Thanks Johnny). 🌹
Coffee love means barista love. People who serve with genuine care, a smile and a bit of fun make the coffee taste better. (IMHO) Thanks Johnny. A favourite out of home office workplace for me is a relaxing cafe. Just sharing the appreciation. I love my coffee like people love wine. I still remember discovering proper espresso coffee back in 1983-a rarity in the US at that time. Being in the heart of cafe culture while at UC Berkeley in California I was in heaven. Every day I enjoyed a real coffee on the way to lectures. Mind you the size was enormous. I was not a morning person :-) I later found studying in cafes was a way to enjoy it too. Today there are chain store coffee houses everywhere you turn. I worked with one once. So I know first hand it really comes down to care and service (plus good training). If every person served the other like it mattered there would be such a difference. Sadly though a lot of people are either rushed, bored or doing the work for only one other reason. Not here. Not the other places I used to or still visit. So appreciate your barista as much as your coffee and they might do the same.
