Lil talk about feelings: You know what bottling feelings up does?? It hurts you. Bad. After a little bit of shoving feeling after feeling in your little "bad feelings bottle" it will eventually explode and hurt you and maybe even others. And LISTEN TO THIS. your bad feelings bottle? Where you put all the feelings you don't want to show, or don't wanna feel, it shouldn't hold that name. Because none of your feelings are bad. You are human, an extraordinary being that is able to feel probably thousands of distinct feelings. A feeling for every situation. And they aren't bad. Sometimes feelings like sadness might seem to hurt you, but it doesn't make the feeling bad because you can actually use that sadness for good things and use the sad to improve yourself. Ok so, if you shouldn't bottle the feelings, what do you do?? You show how you feel. Now I do not mean be over the top and dramatic, and shouting on the rooftops how you feel, (tho hey that's cool, you go do that if you really wanna) but it does mean that you do not have to try to hide that feeling, or stuff it back in. If you are feeling sad, it's ok to frown. Cause it lets others know that you need some support/something to cheer you up. Another change, another day, another state of mind. Sometimes we get stuck in situations and try as we may, we can't get out of them. For whatever reason that may be, whether it be due to financial reasons, emotional, or because you're really afraid of changes, change the little stuff. You don't have to take big steps. The little stuff count too. I change my hair color every couple of months, I rearrange my bedroom furniture every month, I try to incorporate new thinking patterns (emphasis on the 'try'! 😋). I wish I still had my place mat that we used at meals on res and PHP. This quote was on there and I just felt that mine really did help me sometimes and it was also aesthetically pleasing to me. Unfortunately, the week before I discharged, pipes bursted in the kitchen area and all of the patients’ place mats on PHP got ruined 😭 even a picture of it would have been okay
