Traditional Hindu push ups , , There are many ways we can do push ups. But this is the only way of doing traditional hindu push ups, which involves whole body movement from bottom to top. (I learnt it from an old school boxer Mr.Janarthanam, who is 81 years old now) Lower body: Toe joints, Ankle joints, knee joints, hip joints - flexion and extension Upper body: Spine joints, shoulders joints, elbow joints - flexion and extension (closed fist for involving wrist joints) and Scapular - retraction and protraction Involved muscles: Whole chest, anterior shoulders, serretus anterior, biceps, anterior core, quadriceps, anterior tibialis, triceps, trapezius, latissimus, teres major, erectus spine, glutes and many minor group of muscles. Just this one exercise covers whole lot of muscles and joints involvement. Note: If you have any joint issues (like ankle or knee or hip or back or shoulder or elbow or wrist), find a qualified fitness instructor and modify your push ups movement.
