I’m so glad I have art to escape to while my ankle is out of order. I’m pretty sure I would go insane if someone took away my art supplies. If a burglar broke in, my main concern would be my art. Take whatever you want, but don’t touch my art!
So the story goes - something I was really excited about had finally happened. There’s this amazing organization called Women Wage Peace - it’s a movement that has tens of thousands of members from both the Israeli and Palestinian sides. There are members from the left, right and center of the political spectrum, all and all, but most importantly - it brings women together in a relentless demand for a mutually binding non-violent accord (that would be agreeable to both sides). So when you stand and see history happening all around you, sometimes you feel small. You feel like what you can do, the little you can offer to make a change, to help, is not enough. But that just isn’t true. These women are amazing and I found myself in awe of their love and hope in these hard times. So... I did the little I could. I donated some of my work (some of these are my most precious and loved ones) so they could continue with their remarkable work. If I’m being honest, for a moment there, it was hard to say goodbye (some originals I never intend to sell) but this is something bigger than me. The paintings will be auctioned later this year but if you want to donate now you can send an email to this address - firstname.lastname@example.org - and you can always find more information on their website. There are still good people in this world, hopping for a better tomorrow. Find them. #peace#love#donate#donation#volunteer#womenwagepeace#organization#art#artistsoninstagram#artist#artlife#blessed#instadaily#instaart#inspiration
