💚 Self Love Sunday 💚 I can’t believe this weekend happened. I look at the video and pictures and legit don’t believe it. Dang. I danced THREE shows at Mod Club with the fiercest bad ass women ever. So much energy (and booty popping!) and boom it’s done. I am hella tired and sore. My home is a hot mess. I have a long list of incredible humans I need to reply to and say thank you for the beautiful messages and kind words. But all that can wait. Today was about self love, tenderness and enjoying Sunday perks... I bought fresh fruits and veggies from the market after brunch with my bestie @fitnursepreneur. I taught a yoga class at @ahimsatoronto and then went to @kulaannex for restorative reiki and made a wholesome dinner. Now it’s bath and hair mask time, meditate and good night. Everything can wait. Self love and tender slowness now. End your weekend right. Listen to your body and give it what it needs and deserves. To do lists will always be there. Nourish your body inside and out now. I’ve been working on grounding while continuing to dream big. Especially when it comes to my professional aspirations. My primary element is air—always in my mind, thinking is my preferred state. Simply being present and enjoying the process does not come easy. But all I can do is find ways that help me root in and own my role as dreamer. Yet it’s hard when there are so many outside influences which pull at different directions. So here’s a reminder to me and anyone else that needs it...continue to reach for those dreams and root in so you don’t lose sight of the reason why you’re doing what you’re doing. ••• Tip: Find a good rooting activity for balance when working on big projects or actualizing dreams. Father's day is not an easy day for everyone. I lost my father when I was thirteen and I still feel a sting every year on this day. So to my friends who have lost their father too or who have a rocky or non-existent relationship, please hear me when I say, "it is okay today to not be okay. " Take a moment and go for a walk, take a bath, eat a peice of chocolate, journal your thoughts or do any other type of self soothing exercise you can think of. Be gentle with yourself. Reach out to someone. Grief is difficult and intense. You are going to be okay. Tomorrow is a new day. You are loved.  For everyone else, if you have a friend who you think, may have a tender heart today, send them a text, an email, or drop them a note. Let them know you love them. These last few weeks taught be a lot about myself. And I’m truly grateful for how a lot of things played out. One thing it reminded me is that I truly do love my alone time. I missed reconnecting with myself, my body, my breath. I am my favorite love story and ultimately my own soul mate. Sabrina i love you girl ! 🤣 If  know me you know I’m a huge kid at heart and today I got to play with her all over again. Honoring this moment in my life. In the yoga world, it is said that pain is purification. It reminds you that you’re still alive. Right now I’m living this through and through. I’m struggling to keep on moving forward, literally. I feel like one of those commercials... the one of the lady saying « Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up! » The pain that is radiating through my lower back down my hip and leg is unbearable. To the point that I can hardly walk comfortably, sit comfortably, lay comfortably... and let alone bend down to grab anything. One of these times I might end up getting stuck and not coming back up. I guess this is the universe telling me to slow down, especially after spending the last two weeks working everyday, most days doubles, and teaching numerous hours of yoga classes in between. I may have pushed myself to far, all this for money to pay my bills but now I’m paying the price. Frenchy and I say ‘be you do you for you’. It’s Sunday so take some time for your self to reset ready for the week ahead. There are so many expectations to do stuff or get stuff done. How about making being gentle with your self the top of your to do list today. . How will you put your self at the top today? I’m going to have a big soak in the bubble bath ☺️☺️☺️. .
