I’m so bored 😐 it’s the first day of summer for me tho 😁 and I graduated high school last night 🎓🤩. Also, fun fact this book is on a pillow that my ex boyfriend gave me and I kinda wanna burn it but it’s really cool
My entirely too clever child designed a graphic for my new reading initiative with my junior English classes. It’s called “Rec It Rach” we meet in the library once a month, share home -baked cookies (very important 🍪) and I recommend books to my students. 10 books. 2 mins per recommendation. If more than one kid wants that particular book they can paper-scissors-rock it or we draw names from a hat. Then 4 students have 2 mins each to recommend a book for me to read, and I get to choose 1 of the 4 to read. Anywho we had our very first Rec It Rach this week and it was huge fun and the kids loved it and basically books and cookies are the bestest things ever. Also, how good is this graphic? #books#reading#illustration#recommendations#librarylove#bookstagram
❤ . 📷 Ph: @leolopesrfotografia
in memory of tom wolfe I want to revisit, well, everything! I figure with my old friends the “masters of the universe” and the “social x-rays, starved to perfection” is as good a place to start as any... #tomwolfe#thebonfireofthevanities#bookstagram
Anyone interested in a limited-run copy of ‘Screams from the Underground’ can grab one at B&N or Amazon (link in bio), or DM me if you want some extra goodies and free shipping. Here’s a little time lapse highlighting some of the finer points of the book, which includes full color photos and art in zine-like fashion. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so get it while you can. 💙
I’ve struggled for a few days with what to say about this one. It’s a tough book, and not always enjoyable. The interconnected short stories have flashes of brutality, and each balances on the precarious edge of childhood and adolescence. Often lonely, frightened, and reaching out for something they can’t quite name, each character bared their teeth at me. I had to take more than a few breaks with this one, but I kept the book in my purse regardless. I guess we couldn’t quite let each other go.
hey guys! my review of Red Agenda by Cameron Poe is up on my blog—if you’re interested in politics/political thrillers, definitely check it out! thank you @smithpublicity for sending me a copy! . . . Synopsis: The most sought after commodity in the world is power, and when money is no object, power is up for grabs. Desiring autonomy, one small nation develops an unlikely plan to procure a nuclear-powered submarine. If all goes as intended, the Middle East will destabilize and the OPEC Alliance will crumble. Yet as money might buy power, there’s no guarantee that it buys loyalty. So when the submarine breaks the ocean surface it doesn't travel to the Middle East, it sails for Russia, in an attempt to return the nation to its Soviet roots. Alerted to the possibility of the theft of a Russian sub, the CIA must foil the plan for acquisition without alarming the rest of the world. A step behind and suffering from department infighting, the CIA watches in disbelief as the single most powerful weapon in the world rises from the ocean floor. It doesn’t take long for them to realize that the commander of the vessel has no intention of honoring his contract. Scrambling to prevent a world-wide disaster, CIA operatives in coordination with the US Navy launch a daring and risky plan to quietly thwart a rogue submarine captain before he can obliterate Moscow and take control of the country. Those who volunteer for this mission risk their lives. Those who don’t risk the safety of the entire world.
Some books just make you sigh with happiness at the end...this is one of those books 😍 A heartwarming but true to real life story that swept me off my feet from page one and invoked just about every feeling imaginable 💕 I’ve been dying to read Corbin and Willow’s story since I finished True To You and @beckywadewriter far surpassed my hopes for this book!! Hello lovely booknerds! Today I have a tour with @bookendstours and author @gmtschuilling Of The Watchmaker’s Doctor. This is the first novella in Erase and Rewind! This is a new adult book and the awesome part is 10% of The proceeds will be going to the Brain and Behavior Research foundation! How cool 💛💛 If you would like to know more about the book, read below: Anaya, a disillusioned, thirty-five-year-old doctor, has been looking after Gregory, a retired watchmaker and resident of an aged care facility. On her last visit, he gifts her his final creation, an exquisitely-crafted watch, knowing she will die tragically that very day. It will turn back time. With one condition: she must choose the time and place to reset the clock, and redo just one thing in her life. Regrets, it seems, are easy to realise when you’re dying. Hers was dropping out of school at seventeen. But what if, after one small change, her life would become much worse than it was? Or unthinkable disasters result from a single step off her path? When the alternative is die now, her choice makes itself. And so, Anaya’s story begins with her last thought. Would I have done this if I had any option but the grave? Would you? - - - #newadult#gmtschuilling#bookendstours#totalbookworm#totalbooknerd#thewatchmakersdoctor#bookstagram#bibliophile
