As a vegan, I get tons of questions about how I eat - and lots of questions specifically about much sugar I eat and fruit. ⠀ ⠀ Here’s my take on it: fruit is nature’s candy and I eat it whenever I feel like! I treat whole, fresh fruit the same as I do whole, fresh veggies and starches- I eat them guilt free! My favorite thing about being a vegan is that it’s changed the way I look at food. Whole food is something to be enjoyed without restriction - fruit included! 🍉🍌🍎🍇🍍 ⠀ That said, I do try to avoid added sugars, dried fruits and fruit that has been manipulated in some way. So, I’d prefer to have fresh fruit over a jam packed smoothie or a whole bag of dried fruit as, I’m more full when I eat fresh fruit. This isn’t to say I don’t enjoy smoothies and other goodies but I prefer fresh! ⠀ ⠀ What’s your take on sugar in your diet -natural or added? #plantpowered And yes I’m holding this 🍍 like my baby 😂
