As an #ectomorph, I was born to be naturally super skinny. I was not blessed genetically with strong, shapely legs either. One of the things I was told at my comp a year ago was to work on my lower body. My legs and glutes were weak. I’d accepted that criticism and... Well, I’ve been doing just that. Warm Up and Cool Down Properly warming up your body prepares your muscles for a workout. What should you do? Well there are various ways to warm up but the idea is to increase your body temperature and heart rate slightly. For me, I like to walk/jog on a treadmill and perform light weight repetitions of the movements I will be performing for that day (i.e. bench press on push day). How long should you warm up? You don't want to spend a huge amount of time warming up, at a minimum, 5 minutes. If you spend too much time warming up, you may impede your performance when lifting as you may fatigue your muscles. Like warming up, cooling down has its benefits. Gradually, you want to lower your body temperature and heart rate back to normal levels. In addition, cooling down may aid in minimizing or eliminating DOMS (i.e. muscle soreness). The best way is to walk on the treadmill. Similar to warming up, you can keep a cool down short, 5-10 minutes of walking on treadmill and light stretching should suffice. Day7  The picture doesn’t say a whole lot. What it doesn’t tell you is that I’m still gasping for breath 5 minutes later, my chest is heaving and my legs currently have their own pulse. It just kinda happened but I started my #workout in the #nude tonight. It gave me a whole new perspective what it actually means to be this large and I’m #outofexcuses . It has got to stop. I didn’t get on the #elliptical , I hate the 🀬 machine. But I did manage to do 30 #crunches , 20 reverse crunches/Butt lifts, 30 #jumpingjacks (never again without a bra #ouch ), the 45s #wallsit , 30 #mountianclimbers (there were baby steps not any kind of climbing cos of this giant #gut ), 40 #squats , and 30 #calfraises all in less than 20 minutes. #atleastimmoving #icooked #didntgetfastfood #eventhoughiwantedit #smallsteps #idonthaveabs #somybellyhatesme #hurtallover
