Somedays we just don’t feel like it! Yesterday was supposed to be my arms and back day for my bootcamp ladies and ME. I just wasn’t feeling it. I ended up making it a low macro day and skipping the workout (love having that flexibility for days like that). Today I KNEW I had to get it in. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป I always encourage rest to my clients when they are worn out and just not wanting to exercise, but this was different. I just didn’t want to. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป You’re not always going to be motivated. You’re not always going to want to work out or eat healthy. That’s just life! So what did I do?? I reminded myself how good I would feel afterward, I reminded myself how much better my mood would be, and I reminded myself how proud I would be that I went for it and got it DONE. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป Motivation doesn’t always come naturally. Sometimes you have to challenge yourself. But when that motivation doesn’t come easily, you’ll be even more proud that you GOT IT DONE!

26 Weeks Today! And My Food Philosophyโฌ‡๏ธ I have recently gotten a lot of questions about my take on Keto and Intermittent Fasting.  My opinion is that whatever you can ADHERE TO, ENJOY AND MAINTAIN you will stick with for the long haul. That to me is balance. Can you eat this way having a family? Can you eat this way on vacation? Can you eat this way for the rest of your life? I do think that certain approaches can be therapeutic for short periods of time for specific conditions. Its not always about weight loss- sometimes there are other hormonal, metabolic, and digestive issues at hand.  With that said, I don’t believe that we need to eliminate or severely restrict healthy food groups as a lifestyle. Fruit, whole grains, root vegetables, etc can all be enjoyed within reason and balanced between protein and fat.  Some people do better with a higher fat macro split but that doesn’t mean carbohydrates need to be pretty much eliminated all together.  I believe god created all foods for us to enjoy and thrive off of. It all comes down to moderation in all things.  Moral of the story- Prioritize Protein and Veggies at every meal. Choose wholesome carbohydrates and fat within reason and in balance with your caloric needs. Eat foods to help heal and improve your gut health. Drink plenty of fluids. I swear the simplest meals are so delicious. With my garden's super plentiful yield of tomatoes this season my mom made a delicious spaghetti sauce (thanks mom!) It’s been a journey without a doubt. This is the first time I’ve ever hired a trainer and committed fully to a strength program.  It has had its ups and downs. The first 8 weeks I was flying!  Steady increase in weight and strength.  Dominating my nutrition, calories and macro intake.  But the last 4 weeks have been out of whack.  Travel, other priorities, sickness, sleep deprivation. It took a toll on the gains.  But it’s totally ok!  The point is to make your wellness the priority and that comes in many shapes and forms.  I’m heading into an exciting new chapter of life!! And opening myself to all the possibilities that come.  Can’t wait to share more ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿฆ„๐Ÿ’ช
