“Searenity” // Been going through the backlog of photos this week—too congested to dive and headed out for work stuff, so no new photos for a little while. But that’s just as good. Every photo and video I have prisoner on my hard drives and not shared to the larger world in some way is a missed opportunity to make this ludicrous activity of underwater photography worthwhile to the greater society that supports it. And besides, I love finding these little gems in the catalog I had forgotten about, or missed altogether, in favor of the “better” shot I managed to post before the distraction of whatever shiny new pictures. Here’s that famous school of blue rockfish hanging out at North Monastery Beach, right next to the drop off, shot in the ambient light of a deliriously great afternoon dive with @boojitom a few months ago. I love the trio of yellowtail rockfish in the background forming their own clique in this recess of the kelp forest. I love that boulder on the bottom illuminated by the bright sun piercing through the opening in the canopy parted by our bubbles. And I love the ability to share this perfect moment of a radiant troupe of aquanauts suspended in a sunbeam with all y’all, wherever and whenever y’all are all around this beautiful blue planet. Ahhh, what a world.
