Let's talk about core strength! 🌲πŸ’ͺ I am trying some new exercises, deep core ab wraps, belly pumping etc, trying to really focus on my core strength. This will help me during my pregnancy, labor and post partum. These exercises look easy but if you are truly focusing and engaging your core you will feel it, pregnant or NOT! All exercises are totally safe for mom and baby ❀❀. • Do each exercise for 45sec to 1min.  Repeat according to your fitness level. • I have a pretty bad hernia caused by excessive internal abdominal pressure. Of course with my pregnancy I am noticing it more and more. I have a big bulge when I am straining it and my belly button is out there, a lot. I am starting to get self conscious about the bulging and my belly button when I am exercising now πŸ˜‘. It's stupid, I know, but it's bugs me. I hope these exercises will also help with my lower back pain. • It's hard to change your routine and admit to yourself that you are weaker and that there are certain things you can't do anymore. I know it's not forever, but it is something I am working on. • Keep moving. Be happy. Some core work based on @athleanx recommendations from the #athleanxlive2018 event last week.  If you want to maximize your strength, it's important to elongate your spine between reps so you get the full range of your muscle capacity. Also squeezing a towel between your legs helps reduce hip flexor activation. (Hip flexor activation reduces ab activation). The last exercise "the snow angle" is for your back side. Day 19: Fair warning... this one is a little crazy. Feel free to plank on your knees or to slide out one arm at a time. I’m far from perfect here. Ultimately my hips and body should stay still and I should be able to slowly control the return of my arms to my body. But nope, not perfect! Not even going to pretend to be. So long as we practice with safety, we’re good. During this video my belly button was tucked so high up into my spine to limit as much pelvic tilt as possible. If you swipe to the second video, you can see a drastic dip in my spine.
