in progress male shisa dog. in okinawan culture, the male #shisadog is open mouthed to ward away any evil spirits. he sits loyally next to the closed mouthed, female shisa dog who keeps the surrounding goodness in. she shall be residing on my left thigh- the order they would sit in if they were guarding ones home. these tattoos come at a very significant time in my life, on the anniversary of a time where i needed these guardians the most. i can’t wait to get this guy finished and his lady started! 良い時代
You have to hold on to dreams and implement them. "Gorillas in the Mist" - the movie and the book had fascinated me early. All that and to experience Uganda first hand with nature and people and culture was now. I want to take you on this adventure in the next pictures. Let's start: After a 8.5-hour flight from Brussels via Kigali / Rwanda, we landed in Entebbe, the former capital, and spent the night in Kampala with this morning view of Lake Victoria. #nature#culture#uganda#kampala#trekking#dreams
Here you can see the beautiful and secluded 12th century Kobayr Monastery. The monastery was built on a brink of the Debed river gorge, in 1171, by the Kyurikid princes, a junior branch of the Bagratuni royal house of Armenia. In the 13th century, the monastery was acquired by the Mkhargrdzelis, a noble Armenian dynasty at the service of Georgian royals. The Mkhargrdzelis converted Kobayr into a Chalcedonian monastery, as a result of which the monastery stayed under the tutelage of the Georgian Orthodox Church for some time. This explains several Georgian inscriptions found on the walls of the monastery, which exist alongside the monastery's original Armenian inscriptions. The monastery is currently undergoing renovation funded by the government of Armenia with the assistance of the government of Italy. The ruins of the main church in the monastery contain frescoes of Christ and the twelve apostles as well as the Church Fathers and other Christian figures, which you can see inside the right structure. In the distance you can see the Debed river flowing by the town of Tumanyan. #livelovearmenia#igersarmenia#luvarmenia#ig_armenia #armenianmemories#awesomearmenia#natgeo#naturearmenia#armenian#armenia#travel#hayastan#adventure#heritage#nature#lori#caves#gorge#explore#kobayr#church#history#culture#old#cliff#georgian#monastery#ancient#restoration#architecture
One year in Vietnam - and what a year. A roller coaster indeed. From the highest Highs to the lowest Lows and back again. Life is fast as a rocket. And I cannot deny - I love the hustle and bustle. Never silent, never boring, ever challenging, ever exciting. Where will I be in one year? What kind of person will I be in one year? Nobody knows. But as long as the adventure named life continues, count me in!
Where have you always wanted to go or where was the best place you have traveled to? | I would love to go to Bali and one day I WILL be sipping an ice cold cocktail, in a hammock on the beach, and I cannot wait!
