I've been out of the gym for nearly two weeks. So as punishment I subjected myself to 250 reps at 100kg, without the sled weight, quick as I can. Video is the first 100 reps in just over 5 mins. A great way to improve yourself is to train for something. For me, it was the Spartan Sprint. 30 burpees at a time is brutal, so I made sure I had to do as few as possible by training the obstacles I knew would be on the course. I trained for 3 months and joined a Crossfit gym to have access to ropes. I worked hard because I was invested. Each year I plan to set the bar higher, so I need to train harder!
I’ve had plenty of physically and mentally demanding jobs. This one has been the most challenging to adapt to. • • The drama. The childish games. The lack of hands. The deadlines that I know are unrealistic, but I work hard to meet. The push of products while HQ is still not happy. The mileage, wear and tear, cooling fan going out on my car. List goes on. • • But I’ve learned to find my own motivation to keep going, because the purpose far exceeds the excuses and temptation to sit back let others do the work instead. • • Find a purpose and don’t expect others to motivate you.
