if we had a pound for everytime we've heard this over the last 10 years, we can assure you we wouldn't be sat at home on a Wednesday night watching Corrie๐Ÿ‘€ โฌ‡๏ธ The idea is built on the fact that when your muscles are subjected to a new stimulus they adapt to that stimulus and get better/stronger (somewhat true)...however, this approach lacks one key principle of training that's fundamental to long term improvements in performance and body composition...'PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD' โฌ‡๏ธ The keep your body guessing approach is like saying 'in order to get better at football you should play a different sport every day'. Naturally there will be some crossover with other sports with similar movements that could benefit your performance, but unless you continuously train the key skills/demands required for football and progressively challenge (overload) them over time, you cannot expect to see significant improvements in performance. โฌ‡๏ธ The same principle applies to changing the way you look physically. Doing something new and fun every now and then is a great way to keep you fresh psychologically, but to realise tangable, long term results, you need a structed programme, built on a foundation of key exercises that continues to challenge you over time. I friggin LOVE goals ๐Ÿ’• they motivate me, they inspire me, and they make me feel accomplished once I’ve reached them โœ… so here are some of my favorite tips for you to incorporate goal-setting into your daily life! ๐Ÿค— โ–ถ๏ธ start with an overall goal; wanna loose weight? Gain muscle? Get better at running? โ–ถ๏ธ be SPECIFIC! How much do you want to loose? How fast do you want to run? โ–ถ๏ธ break that goal down into steps; which actions will you need to take? โ–ถ๏ธ then put these steps together into daily, weekly & monthly goals - this will make your overall goal not look so overwhelming anymore! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ โ–ถ๏ธ Last but not least: TAKE ACTION! the best goals are meaningless if they are just on paper ๐Ÿ“ . .
