“Alright, I think it’s time...” How putting babies down relates to you pump faking your way through life 😉 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 Sure, she looks happy when she wakes up. Not so much on the front end of the experience. This cute little girl of ours enjoys fighting her way into a rested state. She flails. She flops. She fusses. So, as we’ve gotten better as parents, we’ve learned that Lucy needs to be danced, bounced, and rocked to sleep. A little twist, Dougie, and 2-step often does the trick to get her to fall asleep in our arms 💃🏼 At the normal waking hour of 3:30 this morning as I completed my dance routine, I felt the telltale signs of it being time to put her back down. She stopped fidgeting, started snoring, and I thought to myself: “Alright, I think it’s time...” But then, as if this little 3 month old girl moonlights as a psychic, her still and calm body sensed that I was ready to make a move. And she twerked her way out of her REM cycle. As soon as I was ready to do my thing, she woke up as if to say: “Not today, pops.” Lucy’s innate ability to wake up as I’m ready to put her down is The Resistance personified. You may not be a parent and understand that kind of agony, but you’ve definitely felt The Resistance pop up in your life. When you’re finally ready to ask the girl of your dreams to marry you, your divorced second cousin that you haven’t spoken to in 6 years tells you that marriage is a trap and you believe that’s enough data to bail. When you’re finally ready to ask for a raise, some bastard of a coworker jokes about that project you forgot to finish. You take his word as gold and cancel your appointment to meet with your boss. When you’ve finally committed to investing in coaching that could change your life, your sibling asks why you would put that kind of money on the line when life’s not that bad. You get defensive, freak out and never invest.
Let’s get this generational wealth mindset embedded into our brain. Most people that look like me can’t even say that their children are taken care of for life let alone further generations! We can stop the curse of brokenness in our families, it just has to start with you. No matter what line on your family tree you are, you can make a difference🗣 #entrepreneurmindset#growthmindset#bossup#generationalwealth
This past week was amazing! A group of us went to Salt Lake City where we talked, laughed, and cried together. Friendships have to be developed and it takes spending time together and being vulnerable. But it is so worth it. Which friends in your life makes you laugh so hard, you cry? #freedombuilders#oolafriends#laughterisgoodforthesoul
Summer solstice is upon us, and I’m feeling nostalgic! So much has changed since the winter solstice arrived. It reminds me that change is the only constant; that we need to be excited for the choices we (thankfully) have made, and to embrace the unknowns. You never know what’s just around the corner 🙏🏻💕⭐️ . . . #rumi#change#holistichealth
