“Here’s to you You were pink or blue And everything I wanted Here’s to you Never sleeping through From midnight till the morning Had to crawl before you walked Before you ran Before I knew it You were trying to free your fingers from my hand ‘Cause you could it on your own now Somehow.” -Slow Down by Nicole Nordeman . Radio silence. Lately those are two words I would use to describe how I’m feeling. I have stopped mindless facebooking and using Instagram. I hardly text anymore. My phone is usually hidden under a couch or in the bottom of a laundry basket because little hands have walked off with it. . Recently I’m realizing just how quickly my children’s childhood is slipping through my fingers. I’m hanging on to every hand hold and goodnight kiss. I’m soaking up the “Mama! Come play with me.” because one day that will all be gone. . This past week, someone I went to school with, lost her not even one month old son. He was diagnosed with a heart condition when she was 25 weeks pregnant with him but they didn’t know what to expect until he was born. After birth, he had a surgery soon after and was then top priority for a heart transplant. He was in need of a few more surgeries but during the last one, he went into cardiac arrest and ended up passing away. . My heart has been heavy for his sweet mama, daddy and big brother because they didn’t get to bring a healthy newborn home from the hospital. They walked out of the hospital without their son in their arms. . I am clinging onto every fleeting moment, slowing down and enjoying the silence because someone out there is wishing they could feel the weight of their baby on their chest.
He is getting better with reading. He wasn’t thrilled with me recording him, hence the tone of his voice 😂😂 I highly recommend the @readingeggs program. It has and still is working so amazing for us. Check out the link in my bio for a free 4 week trial! #readingeggs#learningtoread#reader#1stgrader#5yearsold
I've shared here before about how much our family has been blessed by using affirmations. Many of you know Jack has affirmations taped to his bathroom mirror that he repeats every morning and at bedtime. Last week while Sissy was at the sleepover Matt + I were upstairs when we heard Jones... he had pulled a stool up so he could see himself in the mirror and we heard him say, "I'm gonna be a great man + a great leader!" Goodness, I just melted. He's so blessed to have Jack as a big brother. God is doing big things in the lives of my kiddos and I'm so grateful, humbled beyond measure. #raisingarrows#boymom#ourbestlife#freedomseekers#welifeschool#homeschoollife#homeschoollookslikethis
