‘Kira Kira’ This is a popular make up trend in japan in the last couple of years. ‘Kira Kira’ means ‘glittering’ or ‘shining’ this makeup is all about glowy blushing skin with glitter, shiny studs or beads to add to the magical effect. Japanese makeup has always been very creative and innovative. You can easily see their creativity in their style as well which is very unique and colourful as well. Each individual has their own way of expressing their own creative style. Some like to express through their clothes, some like to express it through their makeup or sometimes both.
Oregon woodworker Bill Hamilton handcrafted a custom frame for the Hawaiian squirrelfish gyotaku he purchased from me. Staying true to the spirit of the piece and its Hawaiian and Japanese heritage, the frame is made of Koa wood from Hawaii and styled after the gates of Japanese temples. One of the greatest joys I experience is seeing the framed end result of my creative process. #gyotaku#japanesestyle#hawaiian#maui#debralumpkins#handcrafted#customframes
