"Mental health doesnt affect us all in the same way, fact of the matter is some of us arent even awear we are being affected by it. I want to help spread the awareness, so lets create more safe spaces, where we can have these open conversations freely". - Amanda Miller • • • • • • • • • • • Thank you Amanda #blackmentalhealthvisibility Black Mental Health Visibility Campaign Campaign Activist: Amanda Miller, founder of @citysixcosmetics Photo Credit: @seandiamondto
In 2016, my life gained an uphill stride. Prior to this year, I was constantly beaten on a daily basis for many years, saw very very close people abuse drugs/weapons, I was starved, ate from rubbish bins on the street, extremily close to being kicked out of school, college drop out, been sacked from work, almost homeless through my own fault. 2016 - I joined the Princes Trust - who guided me to volunteering overseas (more to come), but before then I joined Age UK as a volunteer for months, winning an award in the meantime for 'the best retail shop' in the country, beating over 350 other stores, winning a national award and having the privilege to meet Dame Barbera Windsor. We overcame many issues to avoid shop closure, smash our targets and recruit volunteers!
I’ve been sharing videos of my workouts because I want to inspire others and I want to give hope to others going through chronic illness, back pain, spinal surgery, and recovery! You CAN still follow your dreams and passions! Will there be hard days, you bet! Will there be days you think you can’t put one foot in front of the other, yes! Will you have doubts and fears, you will! Will you get through it, yes and come back stronger!! I am proud that I continue to get up and push play, even when it’s hard! I am proud that everyday I put one foot in front of the other, even when I don’t think I can! I have doubt that I will ever be pain free! I have a fear of an unsuccessful fusion or problems with my hardware! BUT, I am strong. I am determined and I will not let these cracks in the road stop me!!
I have a long ways to go, but I am damn proud of how far I have come physically, spiritually, and ✨MENTALLY✨. ——————————————— —— ——————————————— —— The hardest aspect that I have had to learn throughout this entire journey is learning to shape my mental attitude into being more optimistic. I am a big believer that you can accomplish whatever you: 1. Believe that you can accomplish & 2. What hard enough for — ——————————————— — This journey has been far from easy, but I am damn more proud of how much my attitude, and mentality has changed than anything else! 🧠💪🏽
