Vireo, new Lemon Verbena Farmhouse Ale on tap this weekend. Brewed with local Pilsner, Southern Select 2-row and Appalachian Wheat from @riverbendmalt and hopbacked with fresh Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora) grown on our farm. Fermented with Citrus, a wild strain of sacch yeast from @imperialyeast. Lemon Verbena is also known as "The Princess's Herb" (originally discovered in Argentina and named in Spanish as "Hierba de la Princesa"). It imparts a subtle citrus flavor to the beer but void of sourness. The aroma is unique, yes lemony, but floral with a brilliance that is almost enchanting. The Princess Herb flavors and aromas combine magically with the tropical fruit esters of the Citrus yeast. Watch out, this beer will put a spell on you.
