Many of us sign up for our sewing, guild and/or fabric shops Blocks of the Month and don't finish our own and also miss out on seeing other's rendition of their completed quilt tops. Today, we proudly feature a 3 year old Loose Threads Quilt Guild completed B.O.M. The instructions were for a black and white quilt and like pretty much all of us...she modified it and made it our own. Using fabric from her stash, she added a splash of color to each block and created an awesome keyboard border using her leftovers. Can you believe this...she's actually thinking of keeping it for herself?!? She already knew what quilting pattern she wanted and thread before our appointment. We used a triangle meander stitching pattern with black thread. #sew#sewing#sewn#quilt#quilts#quilting#quilter#quiltersofinstagram#quiltsofinstagram#longarmquilting#longarmquilter#longarmquiltingservices#blockofthemonth#bindingsbordersandsquares
Join us in a stress-free team sewing environment for a fun hands-on longarm quilting retreat. The first day we will take the mystery out of longarm quilting; learning how to load a quilt, basic terms, machine features and tips. Day two will focus on freemotion quilting! Practice continuous lines, area quilting and explore how to use rulers and templates. We supply everything for you to use in class including the machines, fabric & supplies, not to mention your lunch and snacks each day. Register to attend today. Link in bio.
Quilts don’t have to be extravagant to hold the magic that all quilts contain. That love and warmth of the piecer/quilter. The original purpose of a quilt was the following: “The quilt, as we know it in America, was originally a strictly utilitarian article, born of the necessity of providing warm covers for beds. Quilts were also used as hangings for doors and windows that were not sealed well enough to keep out the cold. The earliest American quilts, made by English and Dutch settlers, were so intimately connected to everyday life of the early colonists that no record of them exists.” I have been busy this week quilting and the simplicity and love that are in these quilts is evident. I know the recipients of these will feel that love and warmth pouring out into them. #tadaquiltshop#longarmquilter#apqs#apqslenni#quiltlove#quilthistory
How many ways can you quilt a carpenters star? Quite a few! The Piece by Peace Quilt Guild in Livingston, Montana included a longarm exhibit in their quilt show last weekend. Of course I had to participate! Check out the blog post for close ups of some of my favorite ways to quilt this block.
