⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Feeling pretty proud of this one. My very first commission and largest, most challenging weave yet. So excited to say this will shortly be making its way home to @michelle_hilke and her lovely new fam in New Zealand. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❤⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Something tells me these earthy layers and tones are going to make this peice fit in perfectly over there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #loom#weaving#wallart#wallhanging#natural#yarn#wool#nz#silk#cotton#fibres#handmade
Back to work! A few hours here and there during the week when I get a chance, and one (or two) full days a week is my new schedule with my little gremlin in charge. It feels good to be making again. 😍 I’m hoping to have this warp off the loom in a couple weeks and release its items mid August.

My husband asked what I was weaving. And I said, “I don’t really know. I’m sort of playing around with shapes and colors.” He replied, “So you are doodling.” And I chuckled as he was kinda right! Which is funny because translating doodling on paper into weaving is a painstakingly slow process. A simple line that can be drawn in seconds may take a weaver hours to create. But I sort of like the concept of “doodle weaving”, even if I’m not sure where it’s going. In my book the process and experience are more important than the final outcome. #doodle#fiberart
