Ok! Grande ? 🤔🌱
We'll be focusing on microplastics for the next two weeks so we thought everyone should know exactly what we're talking about! . . . #ourseasourfuture #plasticpollution #microplastic
This amazing little bag just arrived in the post today from Germany. When you wash polyester clothes in this bag, it prevents the microfiber from being washed into the ocean! Everyone should own one - go buy yours! More fishingnets are removed from shipwrecks. Research shows that almost half of all plastic in the sea is from fishingnets. #lostfishingnets #microplastic #polution #lostfishinggear #ghostfishing #northsea #sea #nature #ocean #scuba #drysuit #scubadiving #diving #underwater
#repost @theconservationkid (@get_repost) ・・・ Micro-plastics aren’t just in the ocean! This was everywhere today when I did a river clean-up. It was more difficult than actually being on the beach because we couldn’t find any way to separate it from the rocks. This is not good because a lot of people eat fish from the rivers here. . . #microplastic #microplastics #notcool #tennessee #river #cleanup #saveourseas #saveouroceans #saveseaturtles #savetheturtles #plastickills #marinelitter #conservationkid #1pieceeach #fish #saveourriver #reuse #reduce #recycle #skipthestraw #nosingleuseplastic #singleuseplastic #pickplastic18
Get rid of microplastics from your indoor air. Every day, we breathe in tiny plastic particles released from synthetic clothing, toys, and other plastic objects in our homes. When inhaled, they can be harmful to our bodies. Children, whose lungs are still developing, are extra sensitive to polluted air. But here’s the good news. Blueair’s HEPASilent™ technology captures 99.97% of all airbourne particles down to 0.1 micron in size thereby eliminating microplastics from your indoor air. #blueair #airpurifier #uae #microplastic #plasticfreeair

Manche Meereslebewesen bleiben in Plastikteilen hängen. Darunter vor allem Wasserflaschen,Becher to go, Saftflaschen,Einweggeschirr, Plastiksackerl,Verpackungen. Quelle: @greenpeace. A heartbreaking image of an Albatross unknowingly feeding her chick plastic. Hopefully this will wake some people up, and incite the change required to save this planet 🌎 🚨 Go check out our pal @submerged_scientist ・・・ I had to repost this image... Albatross (Pictured here) and almost every other species of sea bird eat plastics and feed it to their chicks thinking it's food. - ▪️Chicks and adults have both been recorded with hundreds of pieces of plastic in their stomachs 🤮 - @northernbeachescleanupcrew "Birds feed their babies - sometimes it's squid and fish, sometimes it's plastic. We have to be more mindful of what can be found on the ground and in our oceans. Let's prevent as much plastic entering nature by refusing to buy it." 🌊♻️ - - - - - #ocean #oceanlife #marinelife #marinebiology #oceanconservation #paditv #natgeo #nationalgeographic #microplastic #marinedebris
Twenty years ago or even two, the idea that plastic straws contribute to ocean pollution was held by a relatively small group of us. Today, and in large part accelerated by strawfree campaigns like @lonelywhale 's #stopsucking ,the straw-habit is on it's way to extinction. Wonderful surprise to see the link between sea turtles (all marinelife) and single-use plastic being made miles upstream from the North Atlantic and Delaware Bay in the Brandywine River watershed. Let's keep this going! - Wildbluesea.org promotes seeing the world through watersheds and the water cycle as a powerful multiplier in our effort to restore #healthyoceans - - #wildbluesea #atlanticocean #100bluereminders #marinelitter #marinedebris #oceanplastic #microplastic #plasticfreeseas #zerowaste #stopsucking #nostraw #gostrawless #refusesingleuse #strawlessocean #salutethereuser #skipthestraw #kennettsquare #brandywineriver #loveitorloseit #caremoreuseless #plasticpollution #seeit2solveit #planetorplastic
😉 . E aí, gostou dessa #quartasemescandalo? Conte pra gente! . Parceiro, sigam @compartideias 👈 . . #reciclagemsemescandalo #repense #zerowaste
🌊🌱 congratulations to @colcacchio on their (1) public recognition of the plastics crisis, and (2) their choice of paper rather than PLA straws. Reusables are first prize, but at least a paper straw will do less damage in the ocean. Guys plastic is the worst!! We use so much of it every day and so much of that ends up in the ocean. Everything is eating it from manta rays to baby turtles, whales, even coral. Even plankton. The base of the oceanic food chain. And it's killing them. It's incredible how quickly plastic has become an integral part of our every day lives and how quickly it has polluted every corner of the globe. When my mother was a girl, she could walk along a beach free of plastic. Imagine that. Plastic does not go away, it only degrades into smaller and smaller pieces ending up more available to all sea creatures. They deserve better. Imagine a plastic free sea. Say no to plastic, be a conscious consumer and dispose of your rubbish properly. If you see some rubbish, pick it up! You might just save a sea turtle ✌🏻️ Please feel free to share Let me know what you do to reduce your plastic use?
Vegan sushi🍣🍱🌱 ~ A lot of people ask vegans if they still eat fish/seafood and the answer is no!🐟🐠But the reason for this goes beyond just ethics- there are MAJOR health concerns that come with eating fish that everyone- vegan or not- should consider before consuming it! ~ The sad truth is, our oceans are severely polluted☠️Our oceans have become the dumping grounds for human kind with approximately 5.25 trillion pieces (and counting) of trash floating around and dramatically affecting marine life🐬🦑 ~ Plastic is the number one contaminant in our oceans that takes anywhere from 450-1,000 years to fully degrade. Before it is degraded, it floats around in our oceans as microscopic pieces of microplastic that fish consume significant amounts of on a daily basis just by breathing🥤🗑 ~ These microplastics are small enough to cross fish cell membranes and cause damage to their reproduction, immunity and survival skills because they cannot be broken down. ~ When humans consume marine life- they are also consuming microplastics that cannot be broken down by our bodies. These microplastics are a HUGE concern for our health- because obviously our bodies are not designed to metabolize PLASTIC!! Significant amounts of microplastic have been found in nearly ALL fish tested around the world and it’s also been found in our drinking water☠️ ~ Not to mention the amount of chemicals and toxins poured into our oceans on a daily basis, including heavy metals from coal burning and mining of iron in the form of methymercury that fish efficiently absorb. ~ The pollution in our oceans is a very real concern for our health and is a guaranteed problem for centuries to come because of how long plastic takes to degrade. ~ Do yourself a favor and DITCH THE FISH. ~ Instead, order plant-based rolls! The ones pictured here are avocado mango, peanut avocado, and a cucumber asparagus roll! 🤤🌿🥒🥑
It’s official! According to @onegreenplanet, “the UK’s ban on microbeads in cosmetic and personal care products has officially come into full effect!” Great news for marine life. You can do your part by avoiding cosmetics that use plastic microbeads. #uk#england#plasticpollution#goodnews#microplastic#ocean#saveouroceans
