I swear I’m not normally into sunsets, but at the end of each work day, I go straight to the window in my room and spend a few moments watching the light disappear over the lake. I reflect on what I witnessed during the day, and can’t bear to let this moment pass without making an image. My work here in DRC is supported by an @theiwmf African Great Lakes reporting grant. Feeling deeply grateful for such an incredible and fulfilling experience. More to come! (P.S., I actually still do speak French. Astonished.) #drc#goma#iwmf#iwmffellows#kivu#lakekivu#lackivu#nordkivu
Evening views over Lac Vert. Though jogging out there has become a weekly routine, I'm still stunned and more than a bit grateful that health, security, and friendships have conspired to make that routine possible. #seenonmyrun#yogging#nordkivu#rdc
