✌️ #mindfulnessmonday ✌️ ⠀ “You are not just the voice of the mind, you are also the listener.” ⠀ Positive thoughts will never be symmetrical to negative ones, but our power lies in what we choose to believe. I want you to think back to your last performance review at work or when someone gave you feedback. Why is it that the one negative piece of feedback holds so much more weight than the 50 positive ones? ⠀ Negative thoughts are like running against a strong wind. They are powerful and obvious because they smack you right in the face. Positive thoughts are like running with a tailwind. You appreciate it at first, but over time you get use to it and it’s easy to forget that they’re there pushing you in the direction you want to go. ⠀ Our power comes from us being able to recognize that we can listen to positive thoughts just as much as we can negative ones. This power is rooted in one word. Gratitude. In most cases, when we shine a light on all the things we’ve overcome to get us to where we are, it reminds us of our resilience. When you cultivate and come into a space of gratitude, it becomes much easier to shift your focus from negative to positive s. As difficult as it is to remember, there is always something to be grateful for.

It’s almost hard to tell that there’s a beach behind me. There’s a ton of wildfires all over British Columbia right now, and it’s causing this haze over Washington that’s making it harder to breathe. There’s also some massive wildfires burdening California as well. It’s Monday, y’all, and time for our newest #welove253 post! ❤️ Today, we’re loving on @beyogawild, a nature-centric, community-minded group of kind-hearted yogis and yoginis! We love @beyogawild for so many reasons: 1. For each person in attendance in each class, they donate $1 to a selected charity, till they reach $1000, and then they choose a new charity to support. So far, they’ve donated to @aclu_nationwide, @theoceanfoundation, and they’re currently working on @conservationnw. 🙏🏻 2. They regularly volunteer (and invite their students to help too) at park cleanup events hosted by @metroparkstacoma. 🌲 3. Staff Spotlight! Whitney Morris - Instructor I moved from Kentucky to Vancouver about three years ago. I originally turned to yoga to help ease my anxiety from the cross-country move. But it soon became more than just a stress-reducer. I've seen major improvements in my overall strength and confidence. I also sleep better, and have better focus at work. Plus, I'm addicted to the hot room and getting a good sweat on! I decided to take the next step in my yoga journey with vinyasa teacher training. I received my 200 RYT from Flow Hot Yoga in 2017. I look forward to sharing the power of yoga with students in the Flow community. Outside of yoga, I love to hike with my two dogs at Lacamas Lake, as well as venture out to the Willamette Valley for wine tasting.
