✨When you look at your reflection, what do you see? ⠀ ⠀ 🤦♀️Do you see every imperfection, flaw, and insecurity? OR do you see the beauty? ⠀ ⠀ 💥Your perception of yourself will create the foundation for the rest of your life… and it will either be significantly strong or extremely weak. ⠀ ⠀ 🌻In this moment, my challenge to you is this: go look at your reflection in the mirror. Say this aloud: “You are a living, breathing, beautiful work of art. Who you are in this very moment is good enough.”⠀ ⠀ 💕What truth are you holding onto today? Share with us below!
Me + coffee. We have this...relationship. Sometimes I quit him because he drives me crazy. I mean, there are days where he legit makes my heart beat way faster than a human heart should be beating on any given workday. So I swear him off, tell him it's over. Sure, I go a couple of days with a good, strong front. But then, oh he just melts me again. He smells so good, you know? Ugh, he's just so charming. He even amps up my social life. I mean, each time we go on a date, I basically make a new best friend. Like this morning, a lady came over to my table to ask about my Bible highlighters!! I love when strangers talk to me! That wouldn't have happened this morning without Mr. COFFEE. He's the reason I'm here, reading my little, worn out bible. Well guys, it's official. We're back together for the summer. There will be days when I pull a Taylor and tell him that we're "never ever ever getting back together, like ever," but I'll always go all Notebook on him and get right back to where we started. Love like this, it's just undeniable. ☕️ Yep. I just wrote a love story about my iced Americano. Now it's your turn! Tell me, lady, what's your go-to summer drink?! ☕️ Pic by the beautiful @elysebullardphotography

“Woohoo! I’m going through a trial!” said no one, ever. How can I be joyful when what I’m going through is painful and difficult? How can I count joy the very reason that’s bringing me to tears and making me anxious? Trials are hard and inevitable but we can definitely choose how to react to them. How often do we embrace them with bitterness and discontentment? I know I have. Lately, I’ve been worrying about a situation that’s completely out of my hands and control. I’m faced with tough decisions and not being able to decide has left me fretting and restless. Every day has brought a new obstacle and layer of impossibility. It feels like deciding is becoming purposefully more difficult and that trial is really testing my faith. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The word of God in James tells me that my trial is an occasion for joy. An opportunity to reveal what kind of faith I have, to myself and to those around me. A road for patience to be produced. How can I experience all that if I don’t go through trials? By God’s grace, my perspective is shifting and I’m now praying: “Bring it on, Lord! I want my faith to increase. I want to experience Your strength. I want to see You move mightily! I’m excited for what You will do out of this trial.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Friends, next time we go through a difficult situation, let’s encourage each other to be joyful. Let’s hang on to the Lord and His word. Let’s trust in Christ’s power and be excited to see how He will intervene. Let’s pray for patience and have faith we will come out of this trial victorious. We will lack nothing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4
The life of abiding is not a life of no trials. As I read 1 Peter this morning my heart was drawn to the reminder that we can rejoice as we share in the suffering of Christ. That may not be what you or I think of when we think about abiding...but I think that is the beauty of the upside-down kingdom. God refines us through suffering and trials and waiting. We are united with Christ. We abide in Him. We surrender to Him. And in this world we will suffer for His name. But He has promised us that the momentary affliction we face can not compare to the glory that is to come. We abide with hope. We cling to Him and don’t let go. We face every moment with confidence that He will bring about His sovereign plan. We rejoice and we rest. This is the life of abiding.

You know fear likes to keep us from doing what God is calling us to do right? . It brings up all the things that could go wrong and worry walks in as faith gets shoved aside. . No more!! Let’s get excited about what God is calling each of us to do and about what He’s going to do in and through us! . That’s faith. Confident and expectant hope in the one true King. Let’s kick worry to the curb and get excited about the hope we have in Jesus! ❤️ . Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:12 (NLT)
Loved hearing these words this week from @hollyfurtick and it was a great reminder for my heart. What can God do with your little bit? Don’t allow the appearance of something to rob of you of the opportunity it holds. Do not despise the day of small beginnings; they are the seeds that will sprout into the garden you hope for. Something like painting imaginary flowers on a photo is such a great opportunity for me to create and share my heart and grow. ❤️ .... So tell me, what little things are you going to see as opportunity today? Whether in work, family, home - let’s look again and count it all valuable as we head into the weekend ❤️😉 #themagicofillustration
