Just one of many gorgeous pieces by Luisa Cevese Riedizioni that make use of textile waste in “Scraps: Fashion, Textiles, and Creative Reuse,” opening October 1 at Palm Springs Art Museum Architecture and Design Center.
Compost, Recycling, Landfill. The trifecta of bins. Most of what is put into our landfills is organic matter (food waste!) that could be turned into valuable compost if only it was placed in the appropriate bin. I have three bins in my kitchen. The largest (white bin) is recycling, the medium sized (tan container) is compost, kept in the freezer, and the smallest (silver container) is landfill. . Knowing what item goes into what bin will help keep that landfill bin small. Make sure to check what is accepted at your local recycling facilityas well. . No space for an outdoor compost bin? Trying a pick up service such as @farmerpiratescompost in Buffalo.
