I tried, but pushing to get a full marathon training schedule into 9 weeks on a freshly healed stress fracture was probably not the best idea I've ever had. I didn't reinjure myself, but I really thought I did for a minute there. So, I decided to defer the Chicago Marathon to next year. I'll take this time to heal up, and build a solid base before targeting a spring marathon (TBD)! I'm not thrilled, but it's the right call, and honestly a load off my mind to be able to focus on recovery for as long as I need. #injuredrunner#runningcommunity#runstigram#girlswhorun#marathon#marathontraining#stressfracture#run#runchi#mychicagomarathon
happy to get out and run a little in the rain today! i love how the rain just makes everything more quiet and peaceful, it made my 7 today almost fly by. my shin was bothering me a lot on today’s run so lots of icing is definitely on my schedule for tonight! fingers crossed everything goes well at my actual car appointment tomorrow! 🤞🏼
