The truth is--it can be so hard to know when to slow down, take it easy and rest.. And when it’s appropriate to push ourselves a little bit outside our comfort zone. Commit to a practice every day to connect to yourself. Once you’ve committed to this practice, take the time to notice the sensations in your body at different times and take action. I’m officially a yoga instructor at @truselfsportingclub! I’ve been a member of this little gym family for a while, and now, after teaching my first class last night, I have entered into their Teacher fam. Woo hoo! Throughout my transfer experience as a college student, they were there to root me on and provide me a space to truly improve my health during summer and winter breaks, my year in SD, and now in my post College life. These guys have been my biggest support group in growing my yoga teaching, allowing me to contribute mindful power yoga and meditation to my local community that I grew up in. Now my yogis can come take my Tuesday night class from 6:30-7:30 pm indoors!!! Although, teaching outside at the sometimes chaotic market can help us all tap into deeper focus amongst loud noises and distractions with time and find comfort in flowing on wet Spring grass 🌱  I hope to see you at my new class! In the physical yoga practice, most practitioners emphasize the destination “poses.” Holding the picture-perfect Warrior II, sticking the legs in a headstand, or finally clasping the hands together for a bind.  The journey in and out of those poses, though, is often rushed,  frantic, or haphazard. I do this in my own practice, and I observe others doing it as well, while I teach. . . As always, our yoga practice mimics life. The transition in and out of each pose is every bit as integral to the practice. Rather than rush through the transition to get to the “destination,” why not savor the journey? . . The truth lies within the transitions in that those transitions reveal how we REALLY are. There is no other, better version of you, or your practice, once you arrive or “stick” the pose. You’re still you. Your wonderful and less-wonderful qualities are still there. They may be easier to... hide, but they’re still there, under the surface. . . . Same goes for our lives. During times of unease, unrest, or turbulence, how do you think, feel, and behave? Does your self-love suddenly change? Does your behavior towards others alter? . . Consider that how you are in the transitions of your life is how you always are. Same goes for your yoga✨ . . Practice taking as much care, love, and time for your transitions as you do in your moments of “arrival.”πŸ™πŸ»

✨FEAR. It consumes us, it can kill us, and it creates more blocks and obstacles and suffering if we let it✨ . I’ve been quite anxious lately. No big reason why, but something deep inside is causing my heart to beat faster and pound and my #mind to go in all sorts of different directions. . When I sit and get still I can find presence and also u do and pause all those (neurotic) thought forms. . They say, from a #holistic perspective, #anxiety is your mind living in the past or fearful of the future. I believe it! . Ultimately those #emotions and the lack of #emotionalintelligence much of our society has has build big walls and barriers. Here’s the thing, failing to confront your issue ultimately harms YOU... it can also harm others. That is until you choose to interrupt your habit, pattern, addiction, and whatever you THInK is real... on the otherside of #fear is LOvE. . πŸ’•We all have the power to live #stressfree, less upset, less set in our ways, attached to our own mind. And caught up in what we think we need to be truly #happy. . Move out of fear —> build your own well of love. Remember your own #mindset has the ability to change your day, #transform your life, and let you #livewell through the highs and lows and experiences of life 😜 . real life πŸ‘‡πŸΌ most of time I love eating veggie filled, nutrient rich meals,  sometimes all I really want is a spoonful of peanut butter or mini PB cups.  most of the time I can’t wait to get on my mat or get a good sweat in,  sometimes I have zero motivation and just really want a nap. most of the time I feel like my life is moving in the direction I want,  sometimes i have no idea which way is up or down and feel completely lost. . . . the ebbs and flows of life are normal,  there will be highs and there will be lows,  and that’s OK.  it’s all part of being human and the messy journey that is life ✨ . . sending a little love to each of you today, thank you for traveling this journey with me, xo
