I used  to see others and thought of participating in such challenges but my anxiety used to pull me back. I have not studied yoga but little bit i know thats through my mom or internet and I practice yoga cause it makes me  feel calm, fresh, focused and relaxed. . . . Sometimes a girl just has to bust out her best impression of a lightning bolt... ⚡️🤷‍♀️ . Well, thanks to Bodhi pup I’ve had to spread out my photo taking this week over a couple of days instead of doing my usual ‘bash them out in a one-er routine’. There’s an outtake of this shot in my stories which pretty much demonstrates what I was up against 😂 Put it this way... Getting my pics done for this week meant having a puppy tongue in my hair, ear, nose & mouth & also resulted in my eyeshadow being licked off. Building Self discipline-  If you decide to practice everyday, twice or three times a week, do it. Just go on your mat. Be there even if you don’t have to much time, do something, anything.. or just lay in savasana.  Only the fact that you kept your commitment will make you feel amazing, I assure you. ❓In a traditional Sivananda class, the #candlepose and the #plough are part of the 12 main postures.  Both of them  energize the body,  stretch the ligaments and the muscles from the cervical region, stimulate blood circulation, rejuvenates the back muscles, stimulate the abdominal organs, relieves constipation and refresh the mind. Day 1: #ayurvedayogaandyou #parivrittajanusirsasana #sarvangasana #urdhvaprasaritapadottanasana for Vata Dosha  The light, airy and spacey Vata individuals benefit greatly from a grounding, warming yet relaxing practice.  For reducing excess Vata, I’m sharing #parivrttajanusirsasana with you. *As Vata dominant person you can keep in mind the following- *Approach: This asana should be approached slowly by allowing your body to move into it fluidly and gracefully. *Breathing: Keep your breathing long and smooth or with a light Ujjayi. *Awareness: Move your awareness internal by keeping eyes shut, body still & stable. Allow your impulsive and erratic energy to gently slow down. *Duration: Be in no hurry while in it, letting your mind & body settle into the pose for a long duration of easy 10-15 mins. Make sure you spend equal amount of time on each side. *Benefits: This asana being a seated lateral extension, helps release the accumulated vata from the spine & joints. Improves digestion, stimulates lower abdomen. Reducing stress and anxiety, common in Vata imbalance. Also sharing 2 more asanas for vata people is#sarvangasana and #urdvaprasaritapadasana by the other 2 hosts:) Lets also understand, that just because a particular pose is more suited to one Dosha type, does not mean other dosha types should not do it! It’s important to identify what you wish to derive out of the asana. That which is most aligned with your dosha.  Having said that, this very pose can be done by Pitta & Kapha as well.
