Finished up this striped linen dress using @mccallpatterncompany #m7595 with fabric from @joann_stores I had more than my fair share of issues with this pattern, all stemming from sizing issues. Although I based the size off of my bust measurements (as recommended for this pull over dress) I ended up with a very oversized waist. So I tore the whole thing apart and cut 6 inches out of the whole skirt, which ultimately messed up my perfect stripe matching at the side seams! 😩 Not thrilled with the idea of ripping it apart again, I left it and decided I can live with it. In the end, I’m happy with the result and I think it reflects the style of dress I was going for. (Swipe to last pic for inspo.).
I made a dress! A dress with hats! Sewing doesn’t come easily to me, but I’ve been determined to improve, so I’m quite thrilled with this dress. Of course, a good pattern makes all the difference - the pattern is Penny by @sewoverit - thank you for such clear, easy-to-follow instructions! And, a shout out to @buttonbutton_ca , because I purchased the buttons there last week... #sewoverit#sewoveritpenny#sewist#beginnersewer#imadethisdress#memade#smallbirdworkshop
Day 23 of #mmmay18 : This was my first Tilly and the Buttons pattern - the #rosashirtdress . 👗 I made it out of only 1.5m of fabric (don't know what kind of fabric it is but something with Poly I think: no ironing and super easy to work with 👌😁) so I left the sleeves and couldn't lengthen it. To wear it without tights or skinny jeans it's too short for my taste. Maybe I'll cut it and make a simple Shirt out of it ...or... I lengthen it with some chambray I used for the buttonband 😏 really like #memademay2018 ! #memadewardrobe#sewist#sewingrosa#mmm18#iwearwhatisew#nähenmachtglücklich
