Bunches of fresh herbs are the botanical décor at my house. I had such a surplus that I used parsley and mint in a tabbouleh salad along with hearty grains. Search 'pearl barley tabbouleh' on lastingredient.com for the recipe.

I’ve been waiting so long to share this news! The contract is signed, and the Pasta Friday cookbook is officially happening! It will be published September 2019 by Andrews McMeel (@andrewsmcmeel who also published one of my grandmother’s favorite books, the @bluechairfruit cookbook). And, I get to again work with @sararemington, my friend, and crazy talented photographer. It’s been quite a whirlwind. Less than one year ago, I sold my restaurant and had no idea what I was doing with my life. I started Pasta Friday as a way to lift my spirits, to spend more time with friends, to build a bigger community. Never did I think it would be the catalyst for my second act in life. And this all just feels so right. Like this is what I was meant to do. But I almost gave up so many times this year. So many times I thought this would never happen. But my husband, my family, my friends, my amazing agent-they all pushed. They all told me, “you should see in yourself what we see in you.” I’m finally starting to listen. It’s gonna be an exciting year! Also coming Sept. 2019? My fresh pasta food truck! It’ll be a season of launch parties! 📷: @lancetakesphotos
