ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛʏ ɪs sᴋɪɴ ᴅᴇᴇᴘ... and that’s why you need needles to get to it! 😜 kidding. kinda. not really 👀 ____________________________________________________________ no, but seriously, and this may be controversial to say, but I do believe that our [self] perceived appearance plays a major role in our sense of confidence and esteem. of COURSE everyone’s idea of beauty/fashion/style/self-expression, etc. is different. of COURSE each person has different desires and areas of focus. but at some point or another, many of us get caught up in what we perceive our imperfections to be... not simply because of social pressure (though we might be wondering how to keep up with the beauty influencers of today) but because of our own pride or value system. I don’t know about you, but I strongly feel that if the options exist for your to take matters into your own hands - however ‘superficial’ it may seem on the surface - to feel better about life - DO IT! life is too short to move through it unhappy about things YOU CAN ACTUALLY CHANGE. workout and lose that extra weight that makes you dread summer. remove that mole you’ve always hated. whiten the teeth that hold you back from grinning like an idiot. remove the scars that make you feel damaged. colour the hair that you find ‘too boring’. get that tattoo you’ve been turning over in your head for years. (or remove the one that reminds you of a past life). treat the adult acne that causes you to shrink back into feeling like an awkward teenager. fill out the lips you wish were juicer. attack the fine lines & wrinkles that make you feel pre-maturely old... you get the point. I’m not saying that you have to do anything, but I am saying that if you want to, you should. And without shame. for heaven’s sake, tend to the things that cause you unnecessary angst or manage to convince you on a daily basis that you are anything less than perfectly you. whatever that means TO YOU.
