Block of the day Process 264/365 #dailyreflection #circlesoflifequilt . So today I almost ended up on an episode of a T.V. Show. Sometimes I’m really not sure how these things happen to me. Serious. . Busy clinic day but I was called to a set to see an actor urgently. I drove over during “lunch” (there really is no such thing in doctor-land so you know). I arrived at what they call The Circus. I’m familiar with this term. I’m amongst all the trailers and call to let the contact know I’ve arrived. I think I said something along the lines of, “Hi I’m Dr. Dundas and I’ve arrived I was to call when I got here...” She replied, “Ok, I will send a driver to get you and bring you to the set right away we are filming the cafeteria scene. Now are you going to need process first?” Process? I wasn’t sure if I heard her right so I said, “I don’t think I need process?” She replied, “Well we might as well send you to process first...” In my head I was thinking is this the billing department???? An American thing? And then I decided to ask, “Um what is process?” Suddenly she says, “You are the Doctor right?” “Yes, I was called to see so-and-so” Then she burst out laughing, “OMG you are the real doctor! I thought you were playing the doctor! Process is hair and make-up” They were actually filming a scene in a hospital and were waiting for the doctor actor 🙈 It was close as I said being a good Canadian I likely would have been okay this is weird that so and so insisted I’m made up before I go see them but they are the lead after all.. and apparently this doctor part was background - no lines - so I very well could have walked across as they directed not asking any questions 🤣 The background fabric is that noise you used to get on your TV when the rabbit ears weren’t picking up reception which was similar to this conversation today. Now I understand what Process is and their term makes me laugh 😂 Just like
