"Truck!" "Digger!" With all the construction the drive along Gundaroo Drive is very exciting for toddlers at the moment. After a poor and embarrassing parking attempt we arrive at Throsby playground. Brand new and toddler friendly, its musical, it's bouncy...it's a little windy. Look at the donga! I say impressed with the xylophone pipes. Reuben's surveying the playground with a grumpy look, unsure about the other children. He half heartedly bangs the pipes before spotting a truck across the lake. Drawn to the natural elements, Reuben kicks bark and climbs the rock edging. I end up in the garden again, this seems to happen wherever we go. Scaling the rock climbing hill he gets stuck near the top ending up awkwardly crouched facing downwards. "Do you want to go up or down?" I try to help him without stacking it down the steep rubber. A surprising feature of the playground, there's an in ground trampoline at the top of the hill. Reuben jumps with another child, he's been practicing his jumping for weeks. After a recent bad slide experience, I sit with him and we go down the slide together. The end of the slide is surprisingly short, I'm not sure I can land it successfully. We shoot off the end and thankfully no one gets hurt. Back to the car for snacks, he randomly runs off down a hill toward the lake. I think he's turning into a runner... lucky I dress mum functional with sneakers and a backpack. What an awesome playground, I highly recommend 😀.
