I remember this moment so clear. It was 2 years ago almost to the day. Standing on the boardwalk soaking in this view knowing that life was about to change so drastically. Everything was about to be different and I knew I just wanted to embrace the moment. So I walked up and down loving it all and snapping photos and soaking up the sun. I called my mom telling her I’d be back to Indy soon. . It’s not easy being stuck between two worlds. One where the ocean sings me lullabies so I sleep more sound and one where my nieces laughing as we play tag fill the evening air. . I have no idea how yet. I have no idea when. I just know there will be a time where I am able to be surrounded by family and the ocean. Where I’ll be able to come and go as often as I please. If I want. . It’s embedded so far inside me no one can pry it from me. I’m going to make it happen and as I have for the past couple of years, I will show you every step of the way. The “good”, the “bad” and everything in between. . Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Believe that. Have faith. A burning desire. And work hard. . Anything is possible.

↟ TALE NR 139⠀ TODAYS TALE IS ABOUT @buildingtinyauckland⠀ Part 2/3 ⋅ Break Away Tale⠀ ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋ ⠀ Hi I’m Kate! 👋🏻 My husband Willem and I live on Waiheke Island in New Zealand 🇳🇿⠀ This tiny house is our first home. We decided to build one as a way we could get a foot on the property ladder without having a huge mortgage. The cost of housing skyrocketed in Auckland and we couldn’t afford to buy a house so we started looking into different housing options. When I saw a friends tiny house I was hooked straight away! Building a tiny meant that we could afford to buy more land and it was a way for us to get out of renting and save money.⠀ ⠀ We designed our house (Willem works in architecture) and a friend of ours from @gaiaconstruction built it. We then bought a section for the house to go on after saving money living with family for a year.⠀ ⠀ We have been living in the house for the last 6 months and are loving it! We don’t find the small space to be an issue at all, the high ceilings and the way we designed it makes the space seem larger than it is. The beauty of designing our own tiny home is that we could design it to meet our needs.⠀ ⠀ We are wanting to start a family soon so having a downstairs study that we can convert into a nursery was something we needed, i love to cook so having a large kitchen was more important than a bigger lounge area etc. We realise our home won’t meet our needs forever so we think of it as a stepping stone into a larger family home in the future. By then the tiny house will be a great Air B&B or teenage hang out space when our kids are older!⠀ ⠀ The house measures 7.6m long x 2.4m wide x 4.25m high. ⠀ It has everything in it that a normal house does just by using smart storage. ⠀ ⠀ We wouldn’t call ourselves minimalists, I love to collect things! But It definitely make me question if I need to buy something or not! So it really saves

We’re in the beginning stages of planning next years travels. Mainly to keep our eyes out for workamping jobs. Where should we go? What are YOUR favorite areas of the country? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We tend to always gravitate to the southwest region for the weather, mountains, and 🍻.
This trailer was a flip project of mine a few years back. I had a blast painting it but the inside was my favorite (swipe to see). I would need a couple dozen trailers to get all my design ideas out!!! I’m starting on my new Max trailer which I will be keeping so I’m being extra thoughtful with what I want. Still in the collecting stuff stage right now. Think vintage camp with a modern twist! Stay tuned. #trailerhappiness#designonadime#refurbished#spitandpolish#girlcamper#myspace#tinyhome#smallspaces
