This morning on the @todayshow there was a talk about chronic back pain with Dr Wong ( he was my spinal surgeon) , So many people suffer from back pain and can ruin your day to day life! If exercise and correct stretching doesn’t help ease the pain seek medical advice and talk about going down the road of possible spinal injection or surgery! I would not be able to lift and train again without having my surgery, it is a big scary step but I have my life back!
Body Weight Squat Variations . There are a number challenging squat variations that don’t require adding load to your back. You can use these movements as your pre-lifting movements, you can load them up and use these as accessories or utilitise them as rehabilitation movements, especially the last one. 1️⃣ Duck Squats - a nice juicy VMO destroyer. You can place a barbell under your butt to increase the load. Ensure to have your toes pointed out here. Hold at the bottom and squeeze your glutes to assist with the lift also. 2️⃣ Hindu Squats - A test of your balance here. Ensure to keep upright on these as must as possible. Take these nice and slow 3️⃣ Spanish Squat - I’ve posted about these before. A delicious movement, especially for your quads. Make sure to position the band higher on your calves like shown here. .
