Day 189 - Rest Day  Wasn’t able to get back into the house until the afternoon, and after that we had a shit ton of cleaning and a ton of meal prepping to do.  Back to the gym tomorrow and I can’t wait, I really hate taking days off, I’m completely addicted to the gym and I love it.

Got up to do the roll & Release & then went for a walk. Doesn't look very appetising but it was good. The recipe on the app is for cajun fish with black beans and cauliflower rice but I made it with cajun prawns instead. . . . .

Sterling @hardbodyfitnessbc worked his ass off keeping me motivated and pushing through those horrible plateaus for almost eight months. Can’t thank him enough. BUT he was quick to realize that the shape I want is a much longer journey. After 8 weeks maintenance eating, a physical, and blood work, we started growing. Within two weeks I rebounded back with close to 15lbs body fat around my waist. Sterling worked like crazy helping me re evaluate my calories and, getting me through the “depression.” Its starting to click. Will spend the rest of the year growing and then lean out. Exciting to see my weight going up, waistline shrinking back slowly, and training intensity up like I’ve never seen it. We’ve set some good year long goals, and I expect to meet them. Days till Gladiator Race - 35 - So Sundays are usually my day to recharge and do my shopping as well as prep my food for the week, but instead of posting what I bought I figured why not give some grocery shopping advice, especially when wanting to eat healthier. If you're like me and are on a student budget looking at the weekly ads is a must; the weekly ads are how I choose what I'm going to eat for the week. This week chicken may be on sale, but next week turkey may be on sale. If I can, I like to buy a few extra pounds and freeze them so I have something when meat is not on sale. If you are a vegetarian or vegan adjust accordingly. I also suggest you go in with a focus and a list. This allows you to stay on track and make sure you get what you need, not cookies and chips. Something I heard a lot when I first started doing my own grocery shopping was to stick to the perimeters of the store. This is where you will usually get your animal/non-animal proteins, dairy, fruits, and vegetables as well as some grains. I also find it to be where cheaper items are. Instead of buying $3-$4 bags of chips in the middle aisle, in the produce section, you could get jicama which also has that crunchy feel for a lot cheaper. I usually go to my protein first as that is the first thing when entering the store them dairy where I get things like Greek yogurt and end it in the produce section getting some veggies. The key is to make the market work for you. If you know that they always have cookies by one entrance go through the other. I took 2 bbq Siracha brats from Hyvee, cut the casing off and cooked it up with some red and green bell peppers and a few cherry tomatoes. Added a tad of bbq sauce so it wouldn’t be dry.
