🌱Sunday Night Health Tip🌱 {Because I know if you are anything like me, the weekends can be rough in the nutrition department😉} BUT these are simple tips you can start implementing tomorrow😘 🌈  Just starting on your health journey OR wanting to start one but not sure where to begin!? Start with SMALL changes! They will add up big time💪🏻🤸‍♀️ Week 1: Park in the back of the parking lot to get more steps and/or take the stairs vs elevator👣  Week 2: Focus on drinking more water - aim for 1/2 your body weight in ounces 💦 Drink from a straw, find a fun new cup, set a timer, etc to help you get more. Today we are talking about BCAAs 👇🏼 - There are many good reasons why branched-chain amino acids, or BCAAs, inevitably come up in conversations about building muscle and boosting gains. Here’s why they should be a key component of your workout strategy! - BCAAs are the essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine, which comprise around 35% of your body’s muscle protein. They’re “essential” because your body doesn’t make them on its own! You have to get them through diet. Like other amino acids, they’re the building blocks of protein but what makes these aminos special is they also help preserve muscle glycogen stores, which fuel your muscles and minimize protein breakdown during exercise. They essentially help you get more out of your daily gym sessions! - As mentioned earlier, BCAAs helps preserve your stores of glycogen, the primary fuel your muscles use for energy production. This means your body has a reliable energy source to tap into while you work out, which can keep you going! - Still not done... BCAAs can also help enhance muscle protein recovery after your workout, especially when you consume them with carbs. - A typical daily dose includes 5g of leucine, 4g of valine and 2g of isoleucine. This ratio has been proven to have optimal results when it comes to supplementation during training! - BCAA supplements can be consumed before, during and after exercise. I usually will have them during my training session to take advantage of the long lasting energy and to provide my muscles immediately with the components to grow and recover!

Super sweaty selfie from today’s workout 💦💦💦 . Only 10 minutes into my 30 minute cardio workout and I was drenched in sweat. By the end of my workout, I was sweating in places I never did before! Haha . I love pushing myself past what I ever thought was possible. Completing the 21 day fix for the second time, I feel so much stronger as I’ve lasted longer in workouts & also upped my weights.💪🏻 . With beachbody on demand there are over 600 workouts to choose from, all with modifiers for any fitness level, of all different styles, so you truly can never get bored or not be challenged. But I personally enjoy repeating programs just to see how far I’ve come.🔥 . These home workouts are NO JOKE.
