"Let no one hold you back, when it's your time to fly, soar." - The UrbanEater • • • It's very easy to get trapped into patterns of negativity. Maybe you have goals, you haven't quite met. Maybe you're procrastinating. Maybe you're not making as much money as you'd like. There's enough self doubt in this world. Do not let anybody doubt you, or question your abilities. If these children can run on the top of a South African mountain, 3500ft up, there is no limit to what you can accomplish. Be like them, when YOU are ready, FLY.
What was supposed to be a quiet week at the beach, turned into a haggling, swindling, slight hell. Got to the city of Maputo, wifi doesn't work, paid a guy to take us to the supermarket. Get to the gates of the beaches of Macaneta (where our villa was). Get asked to pay more money than the toll. 😒😒😒 Driving to our beautiful villa, car gets stuck in a muddy mosquito filled ditch. Myself and another female friend leave the car with our male roommate, in the pitch black African streets, walk 5 miles to our beach home. Get help from the hotel directly across the street. A bunch of courageous South Africans (hotel guest) drive us to get our friend in the ditch. When we get there, he's out of the ditch apparently pushed out by a tractor, but he's surrounded by villagers requesting money for their help. It was a mob. 🙄🙄🙄Well, thank god one of the South African men was a trained military man. He jumped in our little Toyota Corolla, told us to hop in, sped off, and drove that little car like a champ. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 All in all, don't go to Maputo without a SUV. Be ready to bargain, and haggle your way out of sketchy situations. It's a beautiful country, but it ain't easy. • • • • #worldtravel#touringafrica#backpacking#roadslesstraveled#realtalk#blacktravel#maputo#macaneta#mozambique#itainteasy#understanding#thestruggle#thestruggleisreal#realafrica#urbanguide#urbanlifestyle#lifeofanurbaneater#lifeoftheurbaneater
