Happy Saturday people, this week’s #cocktailoftheweek is from the amazing @lettersandliquor and is called the Negrosè. πŸŒΉ . And as you could probably guess is a bit of a pun on a negroni/rose hybrid. First it has a rosè reduction (details in the comments) then mixed with some @sipsmith gin and @campari softened with a bar spoon of rosewater. Delicious stuff! . A perfect summer sipper! What are you guys drinking today? πŸ˜Ž
Oh we do love a well made mojito, but if you love that rum and citrus hit then we suggest you give the mint a night off and try a classic daiquiri. 🍸 So refreshing on a hot day, this is actually our favourite rum drink! What's your favourite rum based concoction? πŸ˜‹
So how about a cinema in a gin distillery this weekend? Or a GINEMA. πŸŽ₯ We can’t take credit for that sensational pun, it has to go the guys that are putting on this extravaganza- the lovely chaps at @haymansgin . From tonight to Monday they will be showing films such as Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffanys, The Great Gatsby, The Hangover and of course, Cocktail. . Whilst enjoying the film you will be served  cocktails inspired by the films as well as tucking into some G&T popcorn! πŸΏ . Sounds like gintastic way to spend this Bank Holiday weekend. Sorry that was bad. What’s your favourite cocktail from the movies? πŸŽ¬
Guessing time again! What do you guys think is coming up this Friday? Let us give you an emoji clue on the spirit at least that might help! πŸ‡―πŸ‡² πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ‡―πŸ‡²
Who's been to Sri Lanka? πŸ‡±πŸ‡° We literally love it, can't get enough of the place! And one of our highlights when we were there was our discovery of their homegrown spirit, Arrack. . . Although there are variants all over Asia and the Middle East, the @ceylonarrack that we have used in this recipe is distilled from the sap of the coconut flower. πŸŒΌ . . We have used it in a reshake of one of our favourite variants of the 'Arrack Attack' that you can find all over Sri Lanka, from Kandy to Mirissa. . . Our version is a simple mix of Arrack and lime juice then topped with ginger beer. With a spring of mint for garnish that you catch on the nose when you go in for a sip. Delicious and refreshing! What's your favourite holiday drink? πŸΉ
Our #beeroftheweek is the brilliant β‚‘hop Shop #1 from @mikkeller.nyc the US based offshoot of the brilliant Danish brewery. πŸ‡©πŸ‡°πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ . . This experimental imperial IPA packs a punch at 8.3% and is brewed with large amounts of flaked and raw wheat, flaked oats, malted 2-row barley, with Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic hops to add that intensely hoppy flavour. Awesome can as well! What's your favourite local brewery? πŸΊ
It's Sunday afternoon, time for a treat we reckon and we think this 'Jammy Jaffa' fits the bill. We took inspiration from our favourite biscuit/ cake (who knows! which is right!) the Jaffa Cake! πŸ€€ . This mix of coffee liqueur and Scotch whisky gives it a kick with @cointreau and orange juice giving that familiar jammy, orangey hit.🍊 And it wouldn't be a dessert cocktail without cream and chocolate would it?! πŸ« . Tasty and moreish, give it a try! What is your guys favourite dessert cocktail? πŸ°πŸ§πŸ¦
OK, we admit it we will be watching the #royalwedding2018 today as well and what better way to celebrate than to have some delicious cocktails, get your Union Jacks Out and eat some cake. πŸ° . . And it seems that everyone has their perfect drink for the Royal Wedding but we wanted to showcase a brilliantly English drink from @portobelloroadgin, the Notting Hill Bellini. This beautiful mixture of peach nectar, gin, grenadine and champagne is perfect for a day like today! 🍾
Yes it is Friday and yes it is time for an espresso martini to get the party started. It looks like it's a sunny weekend here in the UK as well! Woo hoo! πŸ˜Ž . But this is no ordinary espresso martini, it is a SALTED CARAMEL version! I have no words. Watch, make, enjoy and then tell us what you think! πŸ˜€πŸ˜‹πŸ€€
So there's a big event happening this Saturday, are you prepped for it?! No not the Royal Wedding but World Whisky Day! πŸ₯ƒ . A celebration of all things malt and mash, there are hundreds of events all around the world aimed at getting both novices and experts excited about this glorious liquid gold! We love it! Check out @worldwhiskyday for more info. πŸ‘ . Oh and this beautiful drink is the Whisky Business courtesy of our brilliant friends @hotrumcow and is a Scotch twist on a Whiskey Sour. The tropical notes of @Auchentoshan American Oak match beautifully with zesty grapefruit liqueur and a lavender-infused sugar syrup, all brought together with fresh lemon and the Whisky Sour’s trademark frothiness from egg white. Delicious stuff! πŸ˜‹
Get ready for another mesmerising loop tipplers! Our espresso martini twist is on its way Friday. πŸΈ What are you guys drinking this hump day? πŸ˜
Happy Sunny Tuesday tipplers! β˜€οΈ . We're going with an original creation to celebrate, our Lavender and Coconut Water Cooler. Perfect for a relaxing Tuesday evening, this tasty little number contains homemade lavender syrup, coconut rum, refreshing coconut water and a hit of lemon juice. . Give it a try, it'll make you sleep well at least! What's your favourite drink to relax with? πŸ’€πŸ˜ͺ
Our #beeroftheweek comes the whole way from Good Old Canada this Monday evening! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ And you know what we had to choose two from the talented chaps @williamstreetbeer as they are that damn good! 🍻 . . First up is the Cliff Top Pale Ale, a classic North American Pale Ale featuring a blend of local delicious hops with beautiful balance. And its partner in crime is the North Shore Ale, a blonde ale with more hoppy flavours without overpowering bitterness. Both delicious and also look at that design….fish smoking a pipe? 🐟 What’s not to love!
Happy Saturday! Our #cocktailoftheweek is this crazy number from @hmss_bristol and their 'Guide to the British Isles’ menu. πŸ’‚ . Named 'Strawberry Field' this tasty little number has wheatgrass infused @martini Rubino, strawberry & blossom honey sherbet, cucumber, rose and HMSS ginger ale. And it's served in a GIANT STRAWBERRY! πŸ“ What's your favourite fruit in a cocktail? πŸπŸˆπŸ‹πŸ‘πŸŒπŸ‡πŸ
The dry martini, one of the most classic and iconic drinks in the world but so easy to get wrong! Everyone has their personal preference on how they like their martinis. Lots of vermouth, no vermouth, vodka instead of gin, olives as a garnish instead of lemon peel, the list goes on. πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸ‹ There are literally thousands of combinations and we suggest that you watch our video and recipe and start building from there! What's your favourite way to have a martini? πŸΈ
Our #onefortheweekend is the return of the @midnight_apothecary to the rooftop garden of the beautiful @brunel_museum πŸ˜ƒ . For only five of your English pounds, you get a tour of the museum and Brunel's Thames Tunnel, some marshmallows for roasting on the open campfires and the chance to try some award-winning botanical cocktails, with ingredients grown in the garden itself by ‘The Cocktail Gardener’. What more could you ask for? Do you guys like flowery cocktails?! πŸ’πŸŒΌπŸŒΈ 🏡
We've got another #15secondcocktail coming your way this Friday! It's guessing time. This one is pretty tough as I know it just looks like water in there but what do you think is coming up Friday? PS It's not just water! πŸ˜‚
Crushed ice. You can buy it, or even better make it at home. Here's a simple way to do that...and one that you should maybe give a miss! πŸ™ˆ
