Quick life update: ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿป‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ‍๐Ÿ’ป . . Fitness: I started a new program two weeks ago! I wrote this one and I’m feeling amazing... it’s a combo of bodybuilding / HIIT / giants sets and it’s not time-consuming just enough to help you tighten up fast๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘ Nutrition: I’ve been eating a lot of pancakes lately… No seriously real pancakes. I’m finding that my body actually wants even more carbs than I’ve been feeding it and I’m seeing results I did not expect... Mostly my stomach is actually flatter in the morning #gofigure ๐Ÿ˜  Personal: One of my best friends in the world @the.red.fit.realtor turned dirty 30 yesterday and we had beach bondfire last night to celebrate. (My hair still smells like campfire and no, I have not been smoking.) On a more serious note, I have been doing more spiritual work lately... If that is something you’re into, I’m reading a book called Quantum Love. I highly recommend it as I’m learning the most important relationship you have is the one with yourself. Your shift in energy will attract exactly want you want/need in life, health and in a partner - pay attention to your vibes.  Business:  Q1 was such a building phase for me and as always big learning curves. #motivation because it's worth saying again and again... I still hear these comments ALL THE TIME ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™ˆ . . Ladies, have you ever started a sentence with one of the following phrases? ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ . . "I don't want to build too much muscle..." "I don't want to get too big..." "I want to have ‘toned’ arms, but I don’t want to look like a man...” . .  I have hard all of these. I've even had guys tell ME not to lift "too heavy" so I will avoid looking like man. The truth is building muscle for women can be a very slooooow process. I have a mentor that once said, "Watching paint dry is exponentially faster than muscle growth on a female.” Hahaha so I think it's safe to say if you start lifting weights, you WILL NOT begin to look like a man anytime time soon. โœจ โœจ So Why not? #1 Women do not have anywhere near the testosterone levels that men are generally born with. Testosterone is the primary hormonal driver of muscle growth and therefore, female muscle growth is a game of patience - A LOT of patience. โœจ โœจ  #2 FOR both men and women, muscle development also requires the right formula – namely, consistent and progressive resistance training (WEIGHTS!), the correct amount of calories, the highest quality of protein sources, the right amount of carbs, the right types of fats, vitamins and minerals, and throw in some of the right supplements (essentially a solid NUTRITION program) and typically this takes many, many months and/or years to get dialed in. โœจ  Also remember, One pound of muscle weighs the SAME and one pound of fat - muscle takes up less space. Muscle is more dense... Meaning when you change your body composition (increasing muscle and decreasing fat) you’ll dress/pants size will be smaller while your body weight may not change much. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Patience and #masteryourhabits -  NOTHING WORTH HAVING COMES EASY! #masteryourhabits what does this mean to you? โœจ I came up with this phrase to summarize what I really felt has been my number one tool for success. It’s not that I was “born this way”, I believe it’s habits that shape your life over time. . โœจ “Master” to me has 2 meanings: 1๏ธโƒฃ to be in charge/in control and 2๏ธโƒฃ to demonstrate proficiency in something. Basically you gotta show me that you know what you’re doing AND that you’re so good at it that other people know you for achievement in this area. . โœจ “Your” - Yours, not mine. What works for me may or may not work for you. It’s your life and you have unique likes and dislikes. I’m just here adding value, sharing and connecting with you. My goal is to help you navigate through self-doubt, motivation fatigue and all the noise out there because I was once in your shoe. YOU are ultimately responsible for your success. . โœจ “Habits” - Daily, weekly and monthly rituals that to take you incrementally closer to (or farther from) where you ultimately want to be. Habits, whether intentional or not, are why you are where you are today - this includes in health/fitness, business, relationships, etc. โœจ So tell me, what does it mean to you? Sunday Funday!! I am soooo ready for warmer weather, beach, cabanas, and pink flamingos ๐Ÿ’• Anyone else feel me on that? ๐Ÿ˜Ž . . I’ve been thinking a lot about transition phases and self- confidence lately. I’ve been in a massive transition for awhile now and to be honest, it’s freakin scary sometimes. We all go through transitions... new job, building a business, moving, starting a relationship... the “Wtf am I doing” phase. ๐Ÿ˜ซ How do you get through it? . . Inside tip: ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ you DONT get through it. It’s not about avoiding discomfort so you get to the other side to be comfortable again. You have learn to swim in your new normal. And if you’re really tuned in to personal growth, then you’ll decide to write your ‘new normal’ yourself! (Insert more scariness). . . What does confidence have to do with this? The best lesson I learned was that you build confidence by simply following through.... do the things you say you’re gonna do even if you have no freakin clue what you’re doing. Most people don’t even set goals for themselves because they don’t anticipate themselves sticking to what it actually takes to do it. Have you ever felt this way? . . Start actually deciding to do things and stick to them. Getting motivated is one thing, staying motivated is another. ๐Ÿ’ฏ There might be a few things motivating you to > start < โ“Summer vacation coming up โ“Wanting to fit into a wedding dress. โ“Wanting look better after letting yourself go during winter season โœจ .... and then you get 3-4 weeks into it and that motivation fades. Maybe you: โ“aren’t getting the results fast enough โ“feel like you’re wasting time not doing the right things โ“start comparing yourself to the people around you and lower your standards. โ“feel unsupported by friends/family โœจ Motivation plateau (or decline) stops MOST people from ever getting what what they really want. What can you do about it? โœจ 1. Dial in your schedule. Just like most of us have scheduled work hours where you are required to get shit done. Simply seeing it on paper you more committed. Start scheduling the things that are important to YOU. Literally put in on your calendar and honor that time... this makes you feel obligated to completing tasks. 2. Change your environment. I know all of entrepreneurs and creative minds that use this strategy to feel reinvigorated.  Get around people and places that make your feel energized and unstoppable. 3. Write out exactly what your life will look if you don’t continue. What will change/not change. How will it FEEL if you just stop? How will it FEEL if you just stay where you are? What will the quality of your life be? The more painful it feels, the more likely you will do whatever it takes move away from that feeling. ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ”ฅ  Have you ever hit a motivation plateau? Hamstring & Glute Tip ๐Ÿ’ฏ The negative is arguably more important than the contraction.... Mostly because I see so many people throwing the weight around and not concentrating on the entire movement. The lowering of the weight is NOT your time to relax -  it’s still part of the exercise to the very last rep. . . Get the most out of your workout. Resist the negative (lowering of the weight) by slowing down. This keeps the muscle under tension longer = stimulating growth. . . If you’re someone trying to improve your backside ๐Ÿ‘ try these at the beginning of your next leg day. 6 sets x 12-15 reps. Number of likes and harsh comments are a real world lesson to teens about their value and negative thought patterns are inevitable. “S/he has more followers... They have more Likes. Only two people liked my post yesterday.” . . Sadly I know many of adults falling into this trap. Self, their business and what they have to offer to the world is not good enough, and relationships are defined by ‘the gram’. I take this pretty seriously considering the majority of my followers are female/18-24 and then female/25-35. . . Studies show that young girls struggle with body image and suffer from anxiety while using Instagram. Francis Jensen, Chair of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, makes a valid point in an article published by TIME; social media and smartphones may not be the root cause of anxiety and depression, but “they may turn out to be an accelerant - the gasoline that turns a flicker of an adolescent angst into a blaze.” . . โœจ That said, I hope that my page educates and inspires you to place a high value on Self - to invest in yourself, work on your business, take care of your body, to make yourself stronger and wiser - and look back only to appreciate how far you’ve come.
