Body is straight and hands rest on the thighs. Relax the whole body. Inhaling stretch the arms above the head, then bring them behind the back and grasp the left wrist with the right hand. Exhaling bend the body forward from the hips, keeping the back straight, until the forehead touches the floor. The buttocks remain on the heels. Breathing normally concentrate on the whole body and relax. Remain in this position for as long as comfortable. Inhaling slowly bring the body upright. At the same time stretch the arms above the head. #hastamudra  #yogahandmudra  Hasta mudra is a hand gesture used in yoga and Indian religions that can be symbolic, ritualistic and/or therapeutic. The term comes from the Sanskrit word, hasta, meaning “hand,” and mudra, meaning “closure,” "mark” or “seal.” Hand Posture, is a complete science by itself.. The whole universe is made up of five elements: Fire, air, space, earth, and water, and likewise a human body is composed of these five elements. The fingers of the hand represent these 5 elements individually.  The #thumb_represents #fire. The #index_finger represents #air. The #middle_finger represents #space. The #ring_finger represents #earth. The #little_finger represents #water. If these #fiveelements are in harmony with one another in the body we are healthy. Imbalance in these five elements leads to disease. The balanced elements cause the body's systems to function optimally.  An intriguing point to note here is that the Mudras of one hand cause improvement in the body's contrary side, that is, the Mudras of the left hand cause improvement in the right side of the body and vice versa. These Mudras can be performed while walking, sitting, or standing. If sitting, we can sit in any position be it #padmasana, #vajrasana, or #sukhasana.  These Mudras should be done everyday beginning with 10 minutes a day, to 30 to 45 minutes, for full effect. This duration can be evenly split in two or three sessions.
