No one is perfect or ever gonna be perfect. But many of us are addicted in pursuing perfectionism, often forgetting that the concept of “perfect” exists only in external validation. We will not thrive unless we utilize our internal drive.
At the end of the day, perfectionism is the enemy of getting things done. We spend so long trying to make things “perfect” that we dismiss “perfectly good”.
Perfectionism is a defense mechanism because “if I’m perfect, no one can judge me, shame me, or reject me”. It takes courage to be imperfect. I spent the last couple of years trying to be more brave, embrace vulnerability, and accept my own imperfections. I’ve made progress but I still struggle with it on a daily basis.
I don’t know how many of you get misled by your own pursuit of perfectionism too.
But know that it is your enemy, stopping you from truly living and thriving.
You are worthy because you exist and show up. Worthiness isn’t earnt by being “perfect”, remember that.
